5 Ways to Make Your BRO App Profile Photos Look Hot!

Photos can say a lot - but curate carefully!

In this day and age, it would be wrong to say that photographs don’t matter – they really do. Not only do they say a lot about who you are and what you’re into, but they can also make you look more desirable and represent you in the best possible way. This is the reason why knowing how to take a good photo of yourself is important. Yes, you might be the kind of bro who doesn’t really care about the way his photos look because you’re cool and carefree – but you will have plenty of time to show that to your date once you land one thanks to your profile picture. So, what to do?

1. Accentuate your features

Every single one of us is different, and each one has something unique that makes him more or less attractive. The first rule of taking a good photo of yourself is to know what your strengths are and accentuate them in your photographs. If it’s your look, make sure you catch it. If it’s your smile, then you know you have to be smiling in your photograph. On the other hand, you might have killer abs that you want to emphasize, which is pretty much OK, but make sure that you do that in the best possible way without looking tacky or like you’re bragging too much (so a nice photo from the beach might do the job – but include your face!). The best possible (and most successful) photographs for dating apps are head shots or photos from the waist up – this is also something that you need to keep in mind.

2. Show who you truly are

Unless you’re just looking for a quick hook up, you really want to show your true self and give your photographs a bit more depth and actually make them say what you’re into and what you like. Choosing to take a photo in front of some of your favorite books, for example, or a location that means a lot to you is a great thing. If you’re into a certain type of music, for example, metal, you should also show it – having your photo taken while wearing one of your favorite metal hoodies or BROcasual tanktops will show this side of you, look hot, and definitely attract bros who like the same. Other people opt to have their photographs taken while they’re drinking coffee, which shows their affection for this hot beverage.

3. Look approachable

Nobody likes a guy who looks like condescending or cocky in his photographs, so make yourself more approachable. The best option to do this is to have your photo taken by someone, as selfies are not as popular (or successful) on dating apps. If you don’t have anyone to take a photo of you, you can always use the option of a timer and make it like you didn’t take your own photo. Also, make sure that you look away from the camera, as for some reason, this gives you a certain amount of depth and approachability.

4. Mind the filters

We’re not saying you shouldn’t use filters or apps like Facetune, but it’s very important to know when to stop. First of all, overusing filters will make your photographs look tacky (and fake), and the best photo for a dating app is one that looks very natural. Moreover, you want to make sure you look exactly the same in person, since you definitely don’t want for your date to tell you that you look a lot better in your photographs. You’re probably thinking the same way.

5. Use photos of good quality

Finally, let’s talk about quality. People who don’t use Instagram much might have a bit of a problem in this department. Namely, an important rule is that you shouldn’t use a photo with other people as a profile picture. Even though it may show how ‘sociable’ you are, this is the time to advertise yourself, not your social life. Make sure that the quality of your photograph is on point, as these tend to get more likes (if you overuse filters, the quality will drop, so just fixing the brightness and contrast is usually enough). Stay away from pixelated photographs – if you don’t like the colors in the photo, sometimes it’s better to go with black and white rather than playing with the saturation and ruining an otherwise good photo.

So yes, photos tell a lot about you. Perhaps they don’t always show your true beauty, but they definitely show what you’re into and give an idea of your aesthetics. Take these tips into account and you’re bound to get at least double the likes that you have now!
