• It is also important to research your potential destination ahead of time to check out the cultural norms and learn what is acceptable and what may rub the people of the region the wrong way. For instance, in some countries like Turkey, making the wrong hand gesture can be considered rude. Even the colors you wear may have an emotional impact. An example of this is in Africa, where the color red is often associated with death. Needless to say, you should do your research before you pack your bags.

• Finally, even if you go to a place that is considered safe, you may still encounter strange and dangerous scenarios. There are also many gay neighborhoods that are filled with great hotels and plenty of awesome nightclubs.

Arguably the most progressive nation in the Americas, Canada is very accepting of the LGTBQIA+ community, so you can travel unabashedly. There is also a ton to do, including eating at the many great restaurants, visiting the picturesque CN Tower, and traversing the many national parks.
